Home Ownership Opportunities
The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth, Minnesota (HRA), has received funds to purchase and rehabilitate foreclosed homes and sell them to qualified low- income individuals/families. These homes are located in designated priority neighborhoods in order to preserve the homes in those neighborhoods. The Program is also intended to give low-income individuals and families the opportunity to purchase a home, which they may not be able to do through traditional mortgage financing.
There will be no down payment or closing costs to the homebuyers, and the homes will be sold on a Contract for Deed through the HRA.
The income limit per family size for all homes is as follows (effective April 1st, 2018):
Family Size Income Limit
1 $ 25,000.00
2 $ 28,600.00
3 $ 32,150.00
4 $ 35,700.00
5 $ 38,600.00
6 $ 41,450.00
7 $ 44,300.00
8 $ 47,150.00
Homebuyers must complete the Common Cents Program (including homebuyer financial classes) offered by Community Action Duluth (726-1665); or the Homebuyer Education Workshop conducted by One Roof Community Housing (727-8604).
